field demonstration by AcoustoScan on sports surface performance testing and international certification standards.
During the session, participants gained valuable insights into how sports surfaces are tested and certified to meet the requirements of major international governing bodies such as FIFA, FIH, World Rugby, and World Athletics.
Performance testing is important for ensuring that sports facilities are safe, durable, and capable of delivering consistent playing conditions for athletes. According to international standards, testing evaluates key factors such as shock absorption, surface hardness, ball rebound, rotational resistance, vertical deformation and player safety.
AcoustoScan also demonstrated how specialised equipment is used on-site to measure the condition and performance of artificial turf systems and athletics facilities. These tests help determine whether a surface complies with the strict requirements needed for international competitions and long-term usage.
As an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory working with global sports’ governing bodies, AcoustoScan is recognised for its expertise in sports surface testing and certification across football, rugby, hockey, athletics, tennis and other sports facilities.
The session provided an excellent opportunity for industry participants to better understand the growing importance of proper testing, maintenance and certification in delivering high-quality sports infrastructure that meets international standards.
